The Section Manager for Cytiva will be responsible for the Capture team . The Capture team is responsible for application work in the affinity chromatography area supporting the affinity ligand program and our core mAb business as well as recombinant protein capture. The team works with research, new product development and market support projects.

This position is part of the Bioprocess OpCo and the Resin & Technologies Business Unit R&D located in Uppsala and will have a setup that is on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and set the directions for the Capture team around strategy and day to day work.

  • Develop people, organization and operating mechanisms to successfully meet requirements in the projects in close collaboration with Product Management, Marketing, GSC and other critical functions.

  • Build and maintain an internal network across OpCo’s and Business units to jointly deliver on agreed priorities.

  • Build and maintain good knowledge of customers, competitors and competing products/technologies within the team.

  • Take on responsibility for tasks outside of direct responsibility, as agreed with manager.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • MSc in Analytical chemistry/Biotechnology/Biochemistry or related area.

  • Several years of experience of industrial development/R&D and market support, with a strong application and customer understanding within the bioprocess and research industry.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to balance resources, timing and quality of outcomes.

  • Track record of successful cross-functional collaborations.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to represent Cytiva R&D internally and externally.

  • English and Swedish as working languages.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Leadership experience as line manager or project manager is a strong merit.
