As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be focusing on design and development of products, solutions and systems including activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. In this role you will impact departmental operations and responsible for planning & execution.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Designing, analyzing, or evaluation of assigned projects and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

  • Contribute to new system industrial designs with a high focus on design for manufacturability.

Required Qualifications & Soft skills

  • Min. 5 years of experience in Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component.

  • Seeking candidates with at least 5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, demonstrating a solid foundation and expertise in this field.

  • Mechanical CAD Design: 2D/3D CAD design for new product releases with PTC CREO or equivalent, focusing on innovative and reliable mechanical solutions for cyclotron systems.

  • Basic understanding of FEM (Finite Element Method) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) calculations (Ansys or equivalent) will be considered a plus.

  • Comprehensive Documentation and Lifecycle Management : Oversee assembly drawings, bill-of-materials, and change notifications, while supporting redesign efforts and maintaining detailed documentation throughout the product's lifecycle. Ensure the integrity and sustainability of cyclotron products which have a lifespan of over 20 years, such expertise is highly beneficial.

  • Prototype Testing and Additive Manufacturing : Conduct prototype testing and verification, leveraging 3D printing and 3D scanning for precision. Utilize expertise in additive manufacturing for modifications, rework, and the development of advanced manufacturing solutions.

  • Independent Initiative and Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with suppliers, sourcing teams, and other departments, using your interpersonal skills and creativity to overcome complex challenges and drive project success. You should be able to work independently, taking initiative on tasks, while also being a team player who contributes to collective problem-solving efforts.

  • Communication and Bilingual Proficiency: Possess excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, facilitating clear and effective collaboration across diverse team members and stakeholders.
