Rotten Tomatoes is seeking a detail-oriented Community Coordinator to provide support to teams that oversee critic and audience communities. The ideal candidate will highly value organization and transparent communication, have administrative experience, and be passionate about inclusion and diversity in film/TV journalism. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support annual critic and publication application and vetting process. Aid in the approval and onboarding of newly approved Tomatometer critics and publications.  

  • Maintain relationships with and respond to a high volume of inquiries for Tomatometer-approved critics and publications by monitoring critic-centric email inboxes. Consistent responsibilities include: 

  • Assisting with updates to critics’ public profiles (adding/removing outlets, adding profile photos, adjusting information such as emails, bios, website links). 

  • Setting critics up with access to self-submit their professional reviews to RT. 

  • Responding to basic tech-related questions and reports of site bugs. Report and follow up regarding site issues with Product teams. 

  • Answering general queries.  

  • Support preparation for critics’ newsletters, including drafting templates and updating copy/layout. 

  • Assist in planning critic-focused events and educational workshops.  

  • Assist in overall efforts to increase inclusion and develop relationships with critics on the Tomatometer. 

  • Moderate a high volume of audience reviews to ensure compliance with code of conduct. 

  • Identify titles that require team moderation and schedule additional moderation coverage as needed.  

  • Help support the development, improvement, and maintenance of standards for the security of our online communities. 

  • Provide ongoing insights and strategic recommendations to continually build community and increase engagement. 

Basic Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a focus in film/television, journalism, media or multicultural studies, or equivalent professional experience.  

  • Superior organizational skills both in approach and execution of work. 

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.  

  • Ability to collect and organize data.  

  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed. 

Desired Characteristics 

  • Proficiency in office management software, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Airtable, and/or JIRA/Atlassian. 

  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for film and TV criticism and journalism. 

  • Motivated and resourceful problem-solver. 

  • Proactive and clear in communicating questions or issues. 

Additional Requirements 

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.   

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
