Description

Role Description :

A Resident Application Engineer (RAE) will be part of a new team called System Applications Solutions Engineering (SASE). Your role will be to work directly with a specific automotive OEM or Tier 1 customer in a collaboration program to support next generation power electronics needs of the customer. You will be located near the customer facility and will work at the customer location. RAEs must be familiar with the xEV power systems, be hands on in lab environment and be able to communicate new technology to the customer and enlist their support.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish good working relationship with customer and manage expectations

  • Ascertain customer needs for future products

  • Lab testing of power products for characterization

  • Prepare/present technical collateral and test reports.

  • Effectively communicate with customer and management to ensure successful collaboration

Qualifications

Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidate will have prior experience as an FAE in the automotive or power electronics market. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of power conversion systems. This includes, circuit topologies, Power modules, thermal solutions, gate drive electronics and passive components.

Minimum requirements :

  • BS in Engineering

  • 5yrs prior experience in testing power components

  • Good knowledge of Si IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards for power converters

  • Familiarity with the Matlab/Simulink or other simulation software package

  • Prior customer facing role

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

  • Additionally, positions located in Germany will require effective communication in German as well.
