About the Van Driver Position

Primary Responsibility is to safely transport passengers in multiple types of vehicles, including those with

manual and automatic transmissions.

  • Drives a regular route, is a regular, spare or charter driver.

  • Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the Vehicle utilizing Zonar technology, including child checks.

  • Assists students in the loading and unloading process.

  • Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students.

  • Attends all safety and training meetings.

  • Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus Vehicle, including exiting from the emergency door.

  • Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily.

  • Cleans the insides of the Vehicle including sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows. Cleans outside windows of the bus Vehicle.

  • Other specialized functions as required by contract.

Van Driver Qualifications

  • Good verbal communication skills

  • At least 21 years old

  • Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years

  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
