Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Non-Engineering STAMPP Intern - PennDOT District 12 (College) in Uniontown, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of the STAMPP program, your responsibilities will include conducting field surveys to assess the conditions of shoulders and guiderails. It is important to update the data accordingly. These surveys will be conducted while operating a state vehicle and driving on the shoulder of the roadway. You will be working in teams of two people. The goal is to complete surveys on approximately half of the District roadway network between May and August.

In order to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others, it is essential to follow proper safety procedures and use the appropriate equipment.

Internship opportunities associated with this posting will be for Engineering District 12 which consists of Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties.

QUALIFICATIONS Students who are interested in a PennDOT internship must meet all of the following requirements: Must be a high school graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a full-time or part-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary education program for the fall semester. Must be in good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher) Must be at least 18 years of age.

Condition of Employment: Upon verification of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License without incident, some positions may be authorized to operate Department vehicles as part of this job.

Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
