Job Description:

Data Engineer Advisor

Deliver insights to help our clients turn data into action as a Data Engineer Advisor at GDIT. Your work will provide transformative solutions to our clients’ big-data obstacles and help advance the mission. Here, you can make a meaningful impact on our clients’ mission and on your career.

Our work depends on Data Engineer Advisor joining our team to use an array of skills to interface with end-users and the Development team. An ideal candidate will have significant data engineering technical capabilities, as well as intelligence analysis skills (analytical methodology and practice; writing and production; briefing; and identification of knowledge gaps, etc.). A successful data engineer must be able to coordinate with multiple customer partners, excel at individual projects and contribute to joint efforts with minimal supervision.

HOW A DATA ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Designs, develops, maintains, and tests infrastructures for data generation as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams.

  • Represent “super-users” for ongoing system development efforts

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, project managers, and other engineers

  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement

  • Proactively identify and communicate risks and opportunities for improvement in testing or other processes

  • Contribute to data calls and special projects (as needed)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience

● Required Experience: At least eight (8) years of related experience in data engineering, technical analysis, technical targeting, or a similar relevant technical discipline

● Required Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with scripting or programming with Linux, Python, or any other language

  • Experience analyzing both large and small datasets to identify trends and patterns

  • Experience producing informational, contextual, and/or intelligence products that embody and explain findings for a variety of audiences

  • Familiarity with field HUMINT, cyber collection with in-depth knowledge of national intelligence Agencies

  • Skilled with writing intelligence products

  • Ability to translate and communicate analyst/targeter end-user requirements to developers providing system upgrades, features, and added data value

  • Strong briefing and writing (verbal and written) skills

● Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Poly

● Required Skills and Abilities: Hands-on experience using commercially available data exploitation and visualization tools for analysis (e.g., MS Excel, Tableau, Wireshark, X-Ways, Encase) ● Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of computing processing platforms (e.g., computers, mobile, I.O.T.)

  • Knowledge of mobile technologies to include cellular networks (WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.)
