Avionics Test & Analysis Corp Test Range Computer Scientist/Software Developer in Tyndall AFB, Florida

  • Perform software development and testing for real-time aircraft telemetry data acquisition and post-flight data reduction applications.
  • Establish and maintain expertise in data analysis and processing systems, and a foundational understanding of digital electronics, in order to apply this knowledge in the design and development of software tools for specific data systems used on the test ranges.
  • Maintain and apply working-level knowledge of RCC IRIG telemetry processing standards, including Pulse Code Modulation (PCM), Digitized Audio Telemetry, Magnetic Tape Recorder and Reproducer, and complex structured data formats.
  • Use knowledge of Intel hardware components, QT development tools, C++ and Linux programming languages, and assembly-language principles to complete design, test, and implementation of software projects.
  • Follow software engineering, systems engineering, and lifecycle management tools to develop and manage requirements, design and model software projects, code, test, and deploy new applications. Use configuration management tools to sustain software tools across their lifecycle and for transition to new applications.
  • Complete CompTIA Security+ certification within 180 days of employment, and maintain to enable system-level access on government computer systems.
  • Perform software development tasks within applicable government direction, local processes, procedures and operating instructions. When appropriate, utilize practices consistent with applicable government and industry project management tools like ISO 9001, AS9100, IEEE 1490-2111, PMBOK Guide, and Project Management Institute guidance. Follow task prioritization from applicable government leads.
  • Perform other position-related duties and assignments, as directed.

Basic Qualification:

- - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, or Mathematics required, masters degree desired. - At least 4 years applicable experience in engineering (2 with MS). - Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of computer science and in the design and development of technical software applications. - Excellent communications, analytical, planning and organization skills. - Working knowledge of computers and computer-based engineering tools. - Must be a US citizen with a current SECRET clearance.
