Amentum Non-Destructive Technician (NDT) Level II in Tyndall AFB, Florida

Amentum is seeking a Non-Destructive Technician (NDT/NDI), Level II to provide support for a position located at Tyndall AFB, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Organizational and Intermediate Level Maintenance Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) functions for scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on full scale and sub-scale targets as well as Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) in support of the Tyndall Aerial Targets Program.

  • Performs Oil Analysis Program (OAP) and magnetic chip detector analysis functions.

  • Shall maintain proficiency in accordance with applicable NAS-410 standards for Non-Destructive Inspection methods, which may include, but are not limited to; Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Dye Penetrant, Magnetic Particle and Radiography Inspections utilizing Air Force/DoD publications, test standards, and equipment on aeronautical and non-aeronautical equipment.

  • Reads Technical Orders (TOs), manufacturers' manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine method of inspection required.

  • Maintains maintenance records and enters maintenance actions in aircraft forms/records.

  • Assists higher technical personnel with the inspections associated with aircraft and targets.

  • May be required to provide technical guidance to equal or lower-level personnel and perform work of lower technical level personnel.

  • Shall meet requirements for eyesight and physical dexterity to perform assigned tasks.

  • Maintains, and accounts for, necessary NDI shop tools, equipment, consumables, and HAZMAT.

  • May be assigned as equipment account custodian.

  • Assists with limited aircraft ground handling as Tow Team Member and Jacking Team Member.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

  • Shall possess, or be capable of certifying to and maintain, NAS-410 Level II certification.

  • Must be fully qualified Air Force or Sister Service NDI technician with a minimum (5) years documented experience, preferably within the last ten (10) years.

  • Must have completed the Air Force Non-Destructive Inspection Technician Course (JCABP2A732-048B) or Naval Aircraft Non-Destructive Inspection Technician Course (C-603-3191).

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance . Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
