Amentum Aircraft Worker (FSAT) in Tyndall AFB, Florida

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Worker to provide support for a position located at Tyndall AFB, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Mechanics in Full Scale Aerial Target (FSAT) and Subscale Aerial Target (SSAT) depot repairs.

  • Performs Organizational and Intermediate (O&I) type maintenance and repairs to aircraft, targets and systems associated with the Aerial Targets contract.

  • Typical work may include: launch/recovery, towing, jacking, servicing, weight & balance, aircraft configuration, wash & lube, engine maintenance, flight controls, hydraulic and pneumatics.

  • Work may include inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, adjusting, rigging, operational checks, overhaul and modifications. Ground handling of targets, aircraft, AGE and support equipment.

  • Installation/removal of munitions, chute/drogue systems, augmentation systems, power plant and airframe components.

  • May fulfill role of Cockpit Safety Officer (CSO) and/or Launch Safety Officer (LSO).

  • Performs maintenance/operational duties in accordance with operating instructions or Air Force Publications.

  • Reads technical orders (TOs), manufacturers’ manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components, including ordering of parts.

  • Assists higher technical personnel with the installation of modifications associated with aircraft and targets.

  • Maintains maintenance records and enters maintenance actions in aircraft forms and/or automated records.

  • Provides technical guidance to equal or lower level personnel.

  • May be required to perform work of a lower technical level personnel.

  • Performs aircraft maintenance and other duties, related tasks within their classifications as assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Recent fighter aircraft maintenance experience (F-16 experience highly desired).

  • Overtime and weekends may be required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance . Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
