Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively. Responsibilities MAJOR DUTIES: Responsible for the efficient operation of assigned areas with Temporary Lodging Facility operation. Performs full supervisory duties to include; initiating personnel actions, evaluating employees on their performance through consultation; verbal/written instructions and on the job training; assigning and distributing work; directing specific tasks and/or job assignments; performance appraisals and evaluations; nominations for employee awards; disciplinary actions; and related matters. Interviews personnel for employment and submit recommended selections. Responsible for scheduling, initial training, continuing instructions and efficient utilization of personnel within assigned area or department. Assist in maintaining records and files such as daily preparation of inventory reports, planning, budget preparation, scheduling or other related reports. Inspects area for compliance of fire, security and safety regulations that pertains to staff, correcting, discrepancies or reporting to Safety Coordinator. Conducts weekly inspections of area for cleanliness, maintenance and accountability of furnishings, correcting and/or reporting to Temporary Lodging Facility Manager. Establishes stock levels and conducts weekly inspection of inventory, prepares request for replenishment of stock to maintain levels established within budgetary parameters. Reviews daily occupancies of facilities and coordinates with Temporary Lodging Facility Manager in order to accurately plan for peak periods and rescheduling of staff to meet workload requirements. Prepares and certifies timecards for accuracy, resolving any discrepancies prior to submission for final review. Responsible for daily administrative work associated with the operations to include the preparation and submission of purchasing and operational records. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as required. CONTROLS OVER POSITION: Incumbent works under direct supervision of the Temporary Lodging Facility Manager who makes assignments by defining requirements, work priorities and task deadlines. The supervisor provides advice, assistance and support in unusual or controversial situations. Routine work is performed independently. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications Three year's experience which provides knowledge of hotel, business operations, or equivalent leadership experience required and demonstrates basic knowledge of business administration and familiarity with business practices and market conditions applicable to program and technical requirement sufficient to perform required duties. Ability to provide and maintain effective working relationship with subordinate employees, higher-level officials and others. Must be able to exercise tact, communicate orally and in writing and function effectively under stress. Must have the ability to operate a variety of office machines to include a personal computer. Knowledge of basic cash handling techniques. Must be able to apply hotel methods and hotel purchasing and budget preparation. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
