Role Overview:

We are looking for a creative and experienced IT Specialist who can think outside the box and operate with a great deal of initiative. You will be working on an effort that modernizes the global network of the Navy and Marine Corps.

General Skillset

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and individually

  • Critical Thinking Skills

  • Ability to give presentations and briefings as needed

Specific Skillset

  • Assist information engineers in coding, testing, implementation, and documentation projects.

  • Conceptualize, design, construct, test, and implement portions of business and technical Information Technology (IT) solutions through the application of appropriate software development life cycle methodology.

  • Interact with the customer to gain an understanding of the business environment, technical context, and organizational strategic direction.

  • Define scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned projects. Collect, identify, define, and organize detailed user and IT requirements.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with others in analyzing collected requirements to ensure plans and identified solutions meet customer needs and expectations.

  • Confirm and prioritize project plans and deliverables with the customer.

  • Participate in business and technical IT solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions.

  • Apply metrics to monitor performance and measure critical project criteria.

  • Establish and maintain security, integrity, and business continuity controls and documents

  • Analyze, identify, and resolve business and or technical problems using appropriate tools

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • IAT Level II

  • CompTIA Security +

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

  • High school Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred but not required

Experience Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience related to Information Technology (IT)

  • Demonstrated experience applying creative solutions to IT-related problems

  • Demonstrated experience having initiative in the workplace

  • Experience in Information Systems (IS)

  • Specialized experience in a single discipline such as assembly/integration, cross-discipline functions, data engineering, industry expertise, knowledge engineering or legacy evolution

  • Background in Cybersecurity is highly preferred
