Virgin Galactic Regulatory Specialist in Tustin, California

As a Project Specialist supporting the Regulatory team at Virgin Galactic you will support critical activities towards establishing and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to our vehicles and mission operations. You will act as the team focal for ensuring that all activities are planned, tracked, and closed per program schedules.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Act as team liaison with stakeholders to develop long-term project schedules, timelines, and deliverables and ensure those goals are met throughout the project's lifetime.

•Facilitate communication between all project stakeholders and collaborators.

•Run project update meetings with agendas and synthesize information into coherent report outs.

•Monitor project risks (both technical and business) and work with collaborators to develop mitigation plans.

•Ensure project artifacts are organized, maintained, stored, and shared with project team members for efficient retrieval and use. This will include establishing traceability and relationships between artifacts and data objects as required in our regulatory model.

•Work with data architects to develop and continually refine our regulatory model.

•Coordinate with stakeholders in the preparation of data packages as may be required for documenting compliance activities.

•Prepare data packages and compile artifacts in support of varied licensing, certification, and reporting standards as may be required by regulators (FAA, FCC, etc.).

•Demonstrate high level of teamwork and collaboration in communicating, planning, negotiating, decision-making, and leadership.

•Foster partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders and communities.

Qualifications:

•Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in aerospace or similar industry having technical regulatory requirements. Flight, manufacturing, or maintenance operations experience within an aerospace organization is a plus.

•Associate degree or better

•Demonstrated project management skills (Certified Associate Project Manager/CAPM or similar certification a plus)

•Ability to multitask and effectively manage several parallel subprojects concurrently

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•Must have above-average software skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook

•Experience in relational database management or data modeling a plus

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $79,300.00–$121,000.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
