General Job Summary:

Operates Presses and assists as part of the team in the set-up and removal of dies from presses according to established methods and procedures to insure production schedules are maintained in the most efficient, safest and cleanest environment possible.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Receives instructions from lead person or Unit Manager as to proper production sequence.

  2. During setup sequence, functions as member of setup team. During this sequence, removes all slugs from bolster and floor and cleans around press as required.

  3. Obtains stock from table or tote box. Positions parts into die; activates press; places finished parts aside to rack or tote box.

  4. Compares parts with sample part periodically; lubricates vital parts of die and removes slugs from die area as necessary; notifies supervisor when press or die needs maintenance.

  5. Periodically inspects equipment during operation and makes minor adjustments as necessary to insure proper operation of the equipment.

  6. Operates presses as required to meet schedule needs. 

  7. Perform quality checks per control plan.

  8. Performs other related duties as required by Unit Manager to insure safety and quality or meet production requirements
