Pregis LLC Controls Technician 2232 in Tupelo, Mississippi

This is a job for a Controls Technician position with the company located in the Tupelo, MS area.

Summary of Job: Documents and implements system PLC, HMI and Motion Control changes. Designs new or modifies existing systems and reports. Provides controls engineering support for all system users.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Solid knowledge of HMI and SCADA design, InteractX experience a plus. Ability to make decisions for electrical component selection and functional layout/design. Electrical design of control panels and interconnectivity. Electrical schematics design and layout. Some understanding of servo motion control, especially web handling. Experience creating HMI applications from conception to implementation. Experience creating PLC logic from conception to implementation. Knowledge and experience in creating database structures, triggers, queries and stored procedures. Ability to learn new and technologies. Requires superior interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with employees, staff, management, etc. Must possess superior organizational skills and be able to prioritize and work simultaneously on several projects. Ability to operate within a team atmosphere. Ability to shift priorities frequently and effectively perform under pressure. Document and develop new applications from the beginning of the development lifecycle through implementation. Create documentation of existing systems. Performs other job-related duties as assigned subject to reasonable accommodations. Some travel may be required (approximately 0-5%).

Promote positive teamwork culture Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team and during shift transition. Design, modify, test and troubleshoot new and existing systems including HMI and PLC software and electrical layout and documentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

Environment: Exposure to moving equipment. Inside work. Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity may exceed 80%. Noise may exceed 85dB+.

Physical Characteristics: Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs). Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.

Position Type: Full time

Shift work: Overtime expected per business demand. Education and Experience. Associate's or Technical School Degree in Electrical. Technology or Automation Controls preferred. 5 years of experience in industrial setting as Electrical Controls Technician required.
