Job Description:

Primary job duty is to lead the continued development and support of the FMV program from both a technical perspective and a project / program role. The Chief engineer will be responsible for the technical direction of the program and interact with the customer to ensure that current solutions meet expectations and to develop new solutions and products for the customer ahead of their need. In addition, the Chief engineer will support the program management staff with EAC and VAC analysis and have responsibility for ensuring that engineering products are on time, on schedule and on cost.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop current and future requirements for an FMV sensor system

  • Be the primary technical contact with the customer, and internal development

  • Provide overal technical direction and final technical decisisons on the program

  • Trouble shoot and resolve problems that arise in the field

  • Develop 1,3,5 year technical road map for the program

  • Work with program management for overall program success

  • Take responsibility for cost and schedule of technical work.

  • Understand programatic finacial functions and how engineering technical work impacts those functions and out comes.

  • Develop staffing demands and work with functionals to ensure program is fully staffed.

  • Build relationship with customer, program team, and industry partners.

  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Security clearance

    Qualifications:

  • Must be able to use MS Office tools in a Sharepoint / Teams environment.

  • Systems Engineering Experience for requirements management, testing, integrationg and verification

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

  • BS Aerospace, Physics, Optics, Systems, Software, Physics, EE,ME or related technical field. MS or higher degree desired.

  • Able to read and understand technical specifications, drawings, documents, schematics, etc.

  • Able to work with SME’s in software development, optical engineering, platform integration, etc.

  • Must know fundamentals of EV.

  • Must be a US Citizen

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Certificate or Masters in systems engineering in addition to base technical degree

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, certificate or training in leadership

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
