System One Litigation Paralegal in Tulsa, Oklahoma

System One has partnered with an established yet growing legal firm in Tulsa, OK, in their search for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their highly qualified team. This firm has a growing insurance practice, so in this position the Litigation Paralegal will assist with insurance litigation under supervision of partners and associates of the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Case Management:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery requests.

  • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible.

  • Calendar deadlines, court appearances, and other important events related to cases.

  • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather necessary information and evidence.

  • Legal Research:

  • Conduct legal research using online databases, libraries, and other legal resources to support case preparation.

  • Analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal authorities relevant to insurance litigation matters.

  • Prepare summaries of legal research findings for attorneys' review and use in case strategy development.

  • Discovery Process:

  • Assist in the preparation and organization of discovery requests and responses.

  • Review and analyze documents produced during discovery, identifying key information and potential legal issues.

  • Coordinate document production and exchange with opposing parties in compliance with court rules and deadlines.

  • Trial Support:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.

  • Coordinate with witnesses and experts to ensure their availability for trial.

  • Provide logistical support during trial proceedings, including managing exhibits, coordinating witness testimony, and assisting with courtroom technology.

  • Administrative Support:

  • Manage attorney calendars, scheduling meetings, hearings, and depositions.

  • Assist with billing and invoicing, tracking billable hours, and preparing client invoices.

  • Handle correspondence, including drafting letters and emails on behalf of attorneys.

  • Perform general office tasks such as answering phones, filing documents, and maintaining office supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, or paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited institution, or certification through NALA, NFPA, or NALS in place of a degree.

  • Minimum of 2 years of complex litigation experience required. Insurance defense and/or extra contractual bad faith insurer defense preferred.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software (Adobe, iManage, eBilling).

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.

  • Knowledge of local and federal court rules and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

    Compensation: $80,000/year based on experience and qualifications.
