Position Overview:

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity and immediate need on the United States Air Force (USAF) E-7A Program for Mission Systems Electronic Warfare Self Protection and Mission Computing Hardware Engineers (Associate, Mid-Level, Senior) in Tukwila, WA. The Mission Systems Team is responsible for design, procurement and integration of the full Mission Systems capability onboard the E-7A

The E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform, having proven itself in operations around the world. The aircraft is designed to track multiple airborne and maritime targets simultaneously. It can provide situational awareness and direct other assets such as fighter jets and warships. The E-7A program is an important program for Boeing with significant growth potential.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate, Mid-level, Senior Engineers

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and documents complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Designs hardware, software and interface specifications.

  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution

  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with Missions Systems Hardware design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with Mission Computing Hardware and Electronic Warfare Self-Protection systems design

  • Experience with FAA certification

Typical Education and Experience:

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range, Associate: $85,850-$116,150. Summary pay range, Mid-Level: $102,850-$139,150. Summary pay range, Senior: $128,350-$173,650
