Our client, a prestigious medical supply company operating out of Tukwila, WA, is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Materials Assistant/Associate Buyer. Celebrating 50 years of success and growth in the industry, our client is at the forefront of providing high-quality medical supplies to various sectors. As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a highly accurate and detail-oriented individual to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with an accounting background to branch into operations and purchasing, with no previous purchasing experience required.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accuracy in Financial Operations: Manage and scrutinize incoming freight bills (UPS, LTL, importing) to ensure charges are reasonable, making necessary updates to costs and prices.
  • Cost and Price Management: Timely update cost/price change sheets due to supplier price adjustments, freight cost modifications, or new source discoveries.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee job issues and receipts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Product Setup and Management: Responsible for new item setups, including cost/price changes and Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
  • Custom Kits Creation: Utilize understanding of cost/price sheets and BOM to set up new kits, including test-fitting for validation.
  • Contract Pricing: Handle contract pricing sheets and updates, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Syspro and Website Synchronization: Ensure product availability and details on the website match Syspro inventory messages.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage annual FDA submissions, ensuring products are compliant and registered.
  • Product Integrity: Oversee UPC projects, artwork proofing, and various product inspections to maintain high standards of quality

Job Details:

  • Payrate: $35-$37/hr. (DOE)
  • DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY -- including comprehensive benefits package
  • Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm (Monday thru Friday)
  • Full-time in-office role (100% onsite)
  • Commute to Tukwila needs to be reasonable

     

Candidate Requirements:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting or other related field
  • Individuals with a strong accounting background - purchasing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills required, with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Familiarity with Syspro or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivation, with an ability to work independently, but also within a team-oriented environment.
  • Projects a positive "can do" attitude and demeanor.
  • Professionally mature -- ideally has worked a few different jobs.
  • Ability to accept "constructive criticism" without taking it personally.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a 'figure-it-out' attitude.
