Summary and Scope

TheSr Vac Specialist (Waste Vacuum Systems) will troubleshoot, diagnose, disassemble, evaluate, and repair wastewater pumps to include macerator, vortex and vacuum, booster pumps and pump systems on site at Deployed Resources locations.\ \

Essential Functions

  • Assist with the removal and re-installation of pumps and equipment
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment and systems
  • Document necessary information on work orders such as pump information, motor information, cause of failure, parts required, description of problem
  • Read exploded views, O & M manuals, and parts list
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, disassemble, evaluate, and repair rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, etc
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and disassemble pump equipment to determine cause of failure, overall condition of pumps and components
  • Travel to job sites as needed, using company vehicles,to deliver, clean, repair, and pick up equipment
  • Design and run reports on equipment readiness
  • Assist with the direction, maintenance, training, and execution of a digital equipment tracking tool
  • Record all data necessary to produce expected service and/or design results, including sizing and illustrations
  • Clean the parts of the rotating equipment using various methods such as parts washers and sand blasters
  • Repair or replace the defective parts, mechanical seals, bearings, shafts, wear rings, O-rings, gaskets, and impellers
  • Test reassembled electro mechanical equipment for proper output and operation
  • Assist with general maintenance functions for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Perform general maintenance functions for temporary facilities, buildings, and tented structures to include carpentry or similar repairs
  • Perform grounds maintenance and limited site work tasks as needed
  • Perform equipment operation onsite as required (training will be provided)
  • Perform daily/scheduled maintenance checks and services on Government Equipment, Company trucks and equipment.
  • Operate site equipment to include but not limited to forklifts, tractors, work carts, yard maintenance equipment, skid steers (training will be provided)
  • Assist with maintenance of water and wastewater systems
  • Repair company equipment as needed to maintain serviceable condition
  • Coordinate service calls when required
  • Use measuring devices and techniques correctly to assure proper sizing
  • Safely use and operate shop equipment such as band saw, drill press, hydraulic press, power tools.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment and other equipment as needed
  • Observe all safety policies and procedures
  • Keep work site clean and organized, assist other mechanics with all skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by field service lead or manager
  • Assist other departments with all skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by Service Manager
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Specifications

  • Subject Matter Expertise with waste vacuum technology, including Jets, Sanitrax, and their industrial components
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanics
  • Considerable knowledge of hydraulics, pumps and valves, generators, gas and diesel engines, transmissions
  • Familiarity with common tools and basic plumbing
  • Familiarity with basic construction, carpentry, and electrical functions
  • Ability to take direction and work independently, while prioritizing tasks
  • Proven problem-solving and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software.
  • Available to work various hours including nights, holidays, and weekends when needed.
  • Ability to travel to job sites asrequired.
  • Ability and willingness to learn how to perform general site maintenance tasks and operate vehicles and site equipment.
