Sr. Director Finance - Resource Industries Operations & Products

About Resource Industries Operations & Products (RIOP):

The Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP) division consists of over 12 product lines, 9 global manufacturing facilities and approximately 10,000 employees. Our products, services and solutions support customers primarily in the construction, surface and underground mining and quarry and aggregates industries.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Division CFO, RIOP, the Sr. Director Finance is responsible for directing all finance-related strategies, initiatives and activities for Large Mining Trucks (150-300 ton), Off-highway Trucks (50-100 ton), Bodies & Buckets and Resource Industries Electrification Solutions. This leader works across highly diverse and global teams to provide strategic counsel and deliver analysis and insights, partnering with the business to drive profitable growth.

The Sr. Director of Finance is the primary business partner and trusted adviser for the VP & General Manager- Large Mining Trucks, Off-Highway Trucks and Bodies & Buckets and the VP & General Manager- Electrification. This role leads a diverse, global team.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive partnership with the RIOP leadership team to gain appropriate alignment and understanding of key requirements to drive profitable growth.

  • Lead monthly business report, analysis, forecast and insights. Present and effectively communicate results to leadership.

  • Drive collaboration across Resource Industries segment and the broader Caterpillar enterprise to ensure an enterprise-focus is maintained.

  • Lead global finance transformation by enabling deeper strategic business insights and driving favorable business outcomes

  • Effectively lead a diverse team, focused on proper talent development, succession planning, performance management and target setting.

What You Have- Skills:

  • Strategic Thinking : Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization. Recommends ways to position the organization for long-term competitiveness.

  • Leadership: Ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future and how to get there. Champions behaviors that inspire cohesiveness and move the organization to reach a vision.

  • Financial Analysis, Forecasting and Modeling : Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results. Champions the use of new technologies and tools for analyzing financial data.

  • Stakeholder Management: Expert level ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and engage with them to achieve objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future.

Additional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience desired

Additional Details:

  • This role can be based in Tucson, AZ, Peoria, IL or Decatur, IL with Tucson preferred. Can expect up to 50% travel.

  • Domestic Relocation is offered for those who qualify
