LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Clinical Social Worker.

Location: Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona

Job Description:

The Clinical Social Worker shall function within an operational unit as a behavioral healthcare provider working with U.S. military personnel.

  • Complete psychosocial assessment (appropriate to patient type and reason for referral) to assist in development of a care plan.
  • Provide brief, targeted intervention for identified patients.
  • Provide education/consultation to patient/family, treatment team and community.
  • Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and patient records of all patients seen.
  • Integrate practice and institutional expectations.
  • Provide timely continuing care planning.
  • Actively collaborate with case management and health care team in identification of outcome indicators, in data collection and analysis and in subsequent system improvement.
  • Provide individual and/or family therapy for identified patients.
  • Formulate and conduct educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups.
  • Contribute to the training experience of mental health technicians.
  • Liaison to community resources, programs.
  • Crisis response and follow-up care in the event of unit casualties or other serious incidents.
  • Participate in and utilize supervision to assess level of competence in clinical social work, identify areas for professional growth and establish mutually agreed upon goals.
  • Treatment planning using evidence based psychotherapeutic interventions.
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities and military commands as appropriate.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited educational institution.
  • Minimum of two years within the past five years in the independent practice of clinical social work in a mental health setting.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, basic writing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with members of the organization.
  • No record of emotional instability, personality disorder, unresolved mental health problems or substance abuse concerns.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of medical/mental health terminology.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge/previous application of the DSM (most recent edition).
  • Knowledge of applying 12 Core Functions of Substance Use treatment to clinical assessments.
  • Knowledge of standardized psychological assessments and Evidence based psychotherapeutic interventions (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, RET, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently, productively and accurately with minimal supervision. Aptitude to multi-task and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment along with excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to a diverse patient and staff.
  • Ability to effectively/efficiently use computer systems and ancillary programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other programs as required. Accuracy with typing and spelling, accurate data entry skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain clinical practice privileges.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
