Job Summary:

Raytheon’s Airborne Effector Production (AEP) Department is responsible for electronics subsystems for all Airborne production products. This includes staff with RF, Power, Digital and mixed signal electronics experience. The job responsibilities of this AEP Section Leader position includes managing and mentoring engineers who are Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) on various programs. The section leader will guide a section of 15 to 20 AEP engineers. This includes hiring, staffing, performance evaluations, mentoring/coaching, expense reports and timecard approvals. Section leader will also have leadership responsibility in an AEP program. The responsibility is split between functional (10%-20%) and program (80%-90%) tasking.

This role will be 100% on-site and based in Tucson, AZ.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Support hiring (resume reviews, interviews, etc.).

  • Support and/or drive department initiatives and goals.

  • Promote collaboration across functional and program boundaries.

  • Balancing staffing needs and align with section member growth.

  • Modeling and Driving Raytheon Values and Behaviors.

  • Support section member performance, career development, and growth throughout the year.

  • Elicit, compile, and communicate performance feedback to support Performance Development.

  • Driving program execution by leading teams (IPTL, CPTL, CE or execution lead).

  • Collaborating with program and functional leadership teams (PM, CE, other IPTLs, Functional leaders, etc.).

  • Engaging with suppliers and aligning program needs.

  • Ability to acquire Special Access Programs Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum 8 years’ of engineering experience OR an Advanced degree and minimum 5 years’ of engineering experience.

  • Current or prior experience with RF / Digital / Analog Power / Mixed Signal subsystem development, including design, analysis, and/or test.

  • Experience leading a technical team (e.g., in the role of task lead / IPTL or Engineering Lead).

  • Demonstrated direct or dotted line leadership of personnel.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical experience in all phases of the product development lifecycle.

  • Failure investigation, root cause identification, and corrective action implementation.

  • Coaching, teaching and/or mentoring skills.

  • Experience serving as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) and/or Control Account Manager (CAM).

  • Development of technical proposals, engineering project estimates, and/or white papers.

  • Relationship management skills (i.e. self-awareness, self-management, empathy, social awareness).

  • Proven track record for working effectively and collaboratively in a diverse team environment.

  • Organizational, planning, and coordination skills.

  • Engineering development discipline and process advocacy.

  • Active and in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
