Summary The incumbent serves in a staff capacity supporting the Chief of the Mental Health Careline through the Administrative Office of the service in the accomplishment of the Mental Health Service long range goals and daily activities. This support enhances the Chief of Service's efficiency and allows for increased availability of his/her time for other functions. Responsibilities This position covers a wide-range of administrative tasks that are related to and include but are not limited to the following items: Provide/ensure timekeeping by i.e. recording time, coordinating with supervisors and/or chiefs for accuracy, timeliness of entry/certifications, cost transfers occur between services when overtime is worked outside of careline, and collaborating with payroll. Administer the daily schedule, work flow and office organization as needed for efficient service. Collaborate with Administrative Officer to accomplish goals for e.g. improved patient outcome, updating patient data in PCMM, and make administrative changes related to the designation of Mental Health Treatment Coordinator. Collaborate to analyze programs to determine whether activities and procedures meet requirements of laws, regulations, union agreements, Medical Center policies, etc. Develop justifications and/or recommend reprogramming to meet unfinanced requirements or increased/decreased costs as required. Prepare budget reports and /or attends budget meetings to keep the Section Chiefs informed of fund status and problems. Process the credentialing, privileging and scope of practice, as appropriate for several staff (contract staff including physicians, physician assistants, and CRNA's), to include monitor other requirements of this duty, i.e. BLS/ACLS certifications, Licensure renewals, Education/training, etc. Collaborate in planning, programs, and managing in concurrence with the Administrative Officer, the annual operating budget consisting of appropriated and reimbursable funds for the following portions of the Department's budget: supply, temporary duty (TDY), Continuing Medical Education, civilian awards budget, etc. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. OR 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. work schedule, but work schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary but requires some standing, walking, lifting and bending.
