Rise Baking Company Wastewater Technician (2nd Shift) in Tucker, Georgia

Job Purpose

The Wastewater Technician is required to perform a multitude of tasks, including but not limited to, operating and maintaining wastewater primary screening equipment (offal) and pre-treatment equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Performs operation and maintenance of full treatment system.

  • Operate and interpret results for pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and spectrographic analytical equipment, sampling instruments, and flow instruments to the degree required by Dekalb County permit and policy.

  • Maintain and perform basic maintenance on pumps, motors, aerators, air compressors, pneumatic auxiliaries, belt and chain drive systems, digital and analog controllers and sensors, and electrical components.

  • Records preventative maintenance tasks and work orders in timely manner.

  • Inventories spare parts and reports usage; suggests re-orders to Manager.

  • Maintains neat and orderly work area; properly maintains tools.

  • Troubleshooting identifying worn parts & rebuilding machine assemblies, pumps, meters, valves, valve actuators and other equipment.

  • Participation in facility maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.

  • Safe handling and use of various chemicals with strict adherence to hazardous communication and MSDS requirements.

  • Operation of a forklift (moving totes, drums, and equipment).

  • Must have flexible availability, including shifts longer than 8 hours, and weekends.

  • Repairing or replacing equipment in wastewater.

  • Performs boiler blow down every shift.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, speak and write English so as to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommended solutions

  • Wastewater Level 1 certification required

  • Must have 3 or more years of related experience in a fast-paced food or manufacturing plant.

  • Ability to use a computer.

  • Ability to train and work on various shifts.

  • Knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical & electro - mechanical systems and practical knowledge of plant electrical/mechanical systems.

  • Ability to analyze electro-mechanical devices, trouble shoot failures and implement repairs.
