Rise Baking Company OPEX Intern in Tucker, Georgia

Job Purpose

Understand, predict, and enhance plant operations using analytical and quantitative methods. Support purchasing, scheduling, planning, and operations by assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations.

Essential Functions

  • Focus on improving manufacturing and business processes through the application of OPEX principals

  • Collaborates with plant teams to drive Lean capabilities, eliminate waste, and advance established Lean programs

  • Execution of assigned projects and presenting project findings to side leadership

  • Assist with the collection of data on downtime entries and productivity tracking systems such as PATCH and report discrepancies

  • Perform cycle time studies in various operations where improvement opportunities are identified

  • Partner with plant teams to investigate issues, find root cause, and develop solutions

  • Assist with other operation analysis and initiatives as needed

  • Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

  • Rising Student enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in a supply chain, engineering or related discipline

  • APICS affiliation/certification a plus

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate with multi-level personnel as well as

  • Ability to work cross-functionally, convey complex issues, and maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to think quickly and handle frequent change

  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, quality driven, and capable of working independently with little supervision
