SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a packaging and crating company seeking an experienced Junior CAD Drafter to join their facility in Tualatin, OR. This company has provided innovative and cost-effective design, crating, packaging, and global logistics for over 70 years.

  • $30.00 – 32.00 an hour

    Primary Function:

    The Junior CAD Drafter is accountable for providing CAD drawings and files based on company and customer standards. Proactively maintain and update drawings and other design documentation. This includes but is not limited to drawings used to enable the accurate manufacturing of products, jigs, and templates, as well as files required for the operation of CNC/manual machines and/or hand work. Manage multiple CAD projects while also communicating directly with internal and external customers.

    Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

  • Provide CAD support for sales, manufacturing, and the operation of specific equipment. Water jet, die press, band saw, other equipment as needed

  • Interpret written instructions, specifications and other inputs to translate requirements into accurate CAD solutions

  • Update or recreate existing CAD designs and files as needed

  • Maintain applicable files

  • Provide CAD files to vendors to ensure designs are interpreted clearly and accurately.

  • Interact with production, and quality teams, to assist with the creation of first article inspection forms and documents

  • Set up jobs in a manner that allows for safe manufacturing and optimal material yield

  • Accurately review and document customer provided samples for the purpose of creating all CAD related files

  • Load CAD Files on Water jets

    Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

  • Proficiency using AutoDesk’s AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks, and Flow software suite

  • Associate degree in Drafting and Design highly desired

  • Able to use a computer and software applications such as, but not limited to, MS Office Suite and CAD software

  • Able to provide all CAD related activities specific to company and customer requirements

  • Demonstrate attention to detail, be deadline-driven, with the goal of continuous improvement in skills and abilities

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to use various measuring tools and measure accurately

  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders, i.e., Customers, Corporate Staff, Sales, Operations, and Customer Service

  • Pass a post-offer background check verification

    Work Environment:

    Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.  Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers.
