Cornerstone Benefit Plans, Inc. Employee Benefits Account Manager in Troy, Michigan

For more than a quarter century, Cornerstone Benefit Plans, Inc. located in Troy has worked with hundreds of Michigan-based companies to be cost-competitive and compliant in the arenas of employee benefits, insurance, and financial services. We are looking to add an on-site Employee Benefits Account Manager.

The Account Manager is responsible for the day-to-day account management for clients with up to 500 employees. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage an assigned book of business and assist with potential new clients
  • Gather and secure employee data to create and submit RFPs
  • Ensure the most accurate information is received from both health and ancillary markets, and create proposals to present to clients (includes analysis of plan design and financial data)
  • Maintain close relationships with all clients and ensure their needs are met and understood in all areas, including explaining coverage, researching claim and billing issues, and providing guidance on compliance issues related to ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, etc.
  • Create easy-to-understand documentation to use in meetings and with clients, including benefit binders and premium election worksheets
  • Schedule and run open enrollment meetings
  • Provide benchmarking research, analysis, and develop detailed client reports
  • Continue to maintain excellent knowledge and ongoing training in group and individual insurance, group ancillary, voluntary benefits, Affordable Care Act compliance, and ERISA requirements

Successful candidates for this position must be highly organized and possess a minimum of two years' experience in group health and welfare benefits. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
