About the Role

The Magna New Mobility team is seeking a talented & nimble engineer to join our electrical team to solve challenging problems towards advancing mobility for everyone and everything. An ideal candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and comfortable working with ambiguity to develop innovative solutions solving problems related to people and goods mobility. You will be responsible for developing concepts, prototyping, validation and launching them into production. Your Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple vehicle E/E domains involving electrification, new mobility, and autonomy

  • Utilize systems engineering principles to define and develop a robust functional architecture for vehicle electrical systems (powertrain, energy storage system, chassis, HMI, connectivity, advanced driver assistance systems, etc.).

  • Analyze engineering results and proposed product changes to determine feasibility, and improvement of functional performance.

  • Direct testing activities for components and equipment under designated conditions to ensure operational performance meets specifications.

  • Develop integration strategy and CAN architecture for vehicle electrical systems.

  • Define and design vehicle topology and electrical / electronic schematics.

  • Fundamental understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, sensors, actuators, and ECUs

Who we are looking for

  • Degree in an Engineering or related field

  • Comprehensive understanding about automotive technology

  • Good understanding of basic engineering principles including FEA, GD&T etc.

  • 3+ years of recent, in-depth, hands-on experience in a relevant field in the automotive industry

Your preferred qualifications

  • Demonstrated technical ability and creativity to initiate, direct, and control specific projects.

  • Basic understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and their importance in automotive systems

  • Knowledge of laboratory mechanical testing (tensile, hardness, metallurgy)

  • Coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.

  • Provide design direction to CAD Designers and assist them in altering or modifying designs to meet objectives

  • Communicate design concepts with CAE Engineers and evaluate structural analysis results.
