HTC Global Services, Inc. has an opening for the position of Database Administrator (Ref# DBA112BV) to work in Troy, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.  As part of a team, responsible for database design, implementation, maintenance, administration, and performance for mainframe applications.  Gather project requirements and design the database model alongside different project teams.  Review the technical design specifications and build the DB2 and IMS databases.  Create various DB2 objects including database, tables, indexes, triggers, functions, and stored procedures based on the requirements.  Schedule periodic maintenance of the databases through batch processing jobs.  Maintain the various DB2 and IMS databases by performing reorgs, unload/load/reload, run stats, data recovery, etc.  Implement data model change requests after reviewing the changes requested from the application teams.  Provide application technical support and maintenance activities for enhanced system functionality.  Align systems with business needs to enhance scalability of database structures and recommend improvements.  Analyze database applications and make necessary adjustments to improve performance.  Perform necessary health checks to ensure all databases are up and running.  Conduct database performance monitoring and SQL tuning.  Create and apply different security profiles based on the roles to maintain information security.  Involved in the planning and implementation of backup and recovery procedures.  Interact with end users and troubleshoot production issues.  Maintain incident handling records for trend analysis.  Create build documents among different levels to address any database issues.  Provide 24x7 support for any database production issues.  Use of DB2, IMS, COBOL, PL/1, JCL, VSAM, Panvalet, Advanced SQL, DB2 Explain, DB2 Admin, SPUFI, IBM Data Studio, IBM DB2 Utilities, Control-M, ServiceNow, z/OS, and Windows.  Travel and/or relocation required.

Requirements:  This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.  Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Database Engineer or related experience.  Position requires 1 year of experience with DB2, IMS, COBOL, PL/1, and JCL.  40hrs/week.
