Assistant Controller

About the Role

The Assistant Controller is responsible for providing high-level support to Corporate Controllers as they manage a company’s accounting and financial activities. Duties include producing financial summary statements, forecasting a company’s financial health and correcting inaccuracies in a company’s financial records.

Your Responsibilities

Primary Positional Tasks

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial results for the plant in an accurate and timely manner

Responsible for division general ledger and yearly close and set up for the new year

Responsible for processing and tracking all Capital Expenditure Requests (CER’s)

Prepare monthly payroll chargeback to Intercompany divisions

Preparation and submittal of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the corporate office regarding specific GL account reconciliations and supplemental information use in consolidated corporate disclosures

Prepare risk management schedules for the Corporate Insurance department

Prepare various US Tax schedules for Corporate Tax Department and Property Tax

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and completing the monthly performance reports

Assist in preparing the annual Controller Model File

Assist Controller in providing guidance, training, and support to the finance team

Assist Controller with additional accounting duties as assigned

Provide backup to General Accountant tasks as required

Who we are looking for

Bachelor’s Degree in business or Accounting with a minimum of three years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

In addition, 5+ years of Senior financial experience is required.

Experience with computerized accounting system(SAP) and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Your preferred qualifications

Education – Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Education - Preferred: Master’s Degree

Years of Experience: Minimum three (3) years of related accounting experience required

Minimum of five (5) years of Senior financial experience is required

Licenses and Certifications: CPA Preferred but not necessary

Other Experience Preferred: Prior experience supervising the processing of payroll.

Experience with computerized accounting systems (SAP).

Prior experience with Hyperion reporting.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
