Lockheed Martin Aircraft Processor in Troy, Alabama

Description: Perform a wide variety of duties necessary in one or more of several areas to complete the manufacturing, overhaul, repair, modification and/or refurbishment of aircraft/components.

Work independently, or as part of a team, according to specifications and other written or oral instructions, under the direction of supervisor, working leader and/or other higher-grade mechanics.

Assemble, disassemble, clean, tag and store aircraft, parts and components, interior and exterior.

Lubricate and grease aircraft.

Assist in evaluation/troubleshooting and testing of aircraft and components to determine condition and serviceability.

Repair, modify, restore, reassemble and reinstall aircraft components, assemblies, subassemblies and associated hardware or other parts and equipment.

Make necessary entries to aircraft forms and records.

Select and operate aircraft support equipment, tools and hardware necessary to properly perform maintenance of aircraft and components.

Recommend alternate means of performing assigned work when traditional methods or equipment are not available.

Assist/ instruct lower grade processors in proper job knowledge and techniques.

Assist in determining corrective actions and/or improved processes.

Perform related tasks to complete the function, i.e., group support, hazardous material handling, operate group support equipment, general housekeeping and safety and other continuous improvement activities.

Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.

As required, segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.

Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required

Requires knowledge of decimals and fractions and use of variable measuring instruments to work from ordinary drawings or specifications.

Use a variety of hand tools and some knowledge of assembly, fitting and installation methods required.

U.S Citizenship Required.

Desired Skills:

1 to 2 years working in aviation repair or other mechanical, sheet metal or fabrication related industry.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
