Job Summary:Under moderate direction, responsible for the safe, efficient operation of high pressure boilers and related auxiliaries, air conditioning equipment and related auxiliaries, various mechanical equipment including air handlers, pumps, compressors and comfort control equipment.Representative Job Duties:The following description of job responsibilities and standards is intended to reflect the major responsibilities and duties of the job, but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities assigned from time to time.Continuously monitors all powerhouse and physical plant equipment.Performs and documents routine inspections, pm's maintenance and repairs of all powerhouse and related physical plant equipment.Minimum Job Qualifications:Education: High school graduate or equivalentExperience: 3 years documented experience in powerhouse operationLicensure: High Pressure Boiler Operator and Refrigeration 3rd class licenseSkills Abilities: Must be experienced in powerhouse operations including steam and refrigeration principles, knowledge of water treatment, electricity, plumbing, welding and pneumatic, computer controls. Must posses the ability to recognize potential problems taking immediate, appropriate and corrective action.Physical RequirementsStrength: Position requires incumbent to constantly perform physical activities requiring ability to pushull object up to 35 pounds and frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds and to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.Manual Dexterity: Position requires incumbent to constantly perform simple motor skills such as standing, holding tools, and occasionally perform difficult manipulative skills such as manipulation of cleaning tools and equipment. Coordination: Position requires incumbent to constantly perform gross body coordination such as walking, pushing large cart, i.e. linen, trash, etc. Constantly performing tasks, which require eye-hand coordination such as working with cleaning tools and equipment and constantly performing task, which require arm-hand steadiness such as operation of cleaning tools and equipment.Mobility: Position requires incumbent to constantly perform mobility skills such as walking, frequently perform mobility skills such as squatting and reaching above shoulder height and occasionally perform fine manipulation functions.Visual Discrimination: Position requires incumbent to constantly see objects closely as in inspecting areas for cleanliness, reading product labels, etc.Hearing: Position requires incumbent to constantly hear normal sounds such as equipment operating and being able to hear pages, telephone conversations, etc.Mental Requirements1. Concentration: Position requires incumbent to constantly be able to concentrate on details with moderate amounts of interruptions such as pages and cleaning requests.2. Attention Span: Position requires incumbent to attend to task/functions constantly for periods up to 60 minutes in length and to frequently attend to task/functions for periods exceeding 60 minutes in length.3. Conceptualization: Position requires incumbent to constantly be able to understand and relate to specific ideas, concepts, and theories.4.
