IIVI AEROSPACE & DEFENSE Manufacturing Technician (Parts Washing & Magnet A - 2004857 in Traverse City, Michigan

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician in our Traverse City, MI facility. This role is responsible for performing tasks in our Magnet, Engraving and Precision Wash area.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Precision Wash Perform appropriate wash cycles based on component and prescribed formula Process parts post-wash to ensure they are dry and ready to be packaged for inventory Package parts of inventory Maintain inventory tracking system for assigned jobs Perform TPM on wash tanks and other equipment as required per TPM schedule Safely handle chemicals and hot water Support Gross Wash and Deburring as needed

Magnet and Engraving Perform rare earth magnet device assembly using manual and automatic fixtures Run pre-programed jobs on laser marking machine to mark parts to print specifications Safely charge magnets to proper polarity using magnetizer Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations Maintain quality standards and verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements Maintain continuity of jobs among co-workers by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs Identify and communicate areas for improvement Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience High School Diploma/GED 2 years of related experience operating Magnet, Engraving and/or Precision Wash equipment Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing is a plus Experience with laser engraving equipment is preferred Experience working from blueprints and written specifications is a plus Experience working in a collaborative team environment is a plus

Skills Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently and within a team and has the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow co-workers. Ability to work with blueprints, sketches, and written specifications. Ability to communicate well with all team members. Basic reading, writing, math and basic to intermediate computer skills. Familiar with computer programs required to track and log parts from start to finish. i.e. database, Excel spreadsheets, and ERP systems

Working Conditions Able to work in the vicinity of strong magnets Working with and near hot water for parts washing Work is performed in an area would loud noise

Physical Requirements Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Able to use arms to apply force to magnet press
