Job Title: Distribution Design Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for motivated entry-level engineers and/or experienced (electrical, mechanical and/or civil), the energy and utilities industry encompass several large sub-industries oriented around such things as petroleum, gas, renewable energy, coal power, nuclear power, energy trading schemes, and infrastructure. These sub-industries, in turn, contain many careers that are characteristic of them.

This person will have an interest in developing construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards. Distribution systems may be in an OH, UG, or URD environment. Work packages will be developed using GIS & CAD tools.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid/remote and/or in office position requiring some days on-site in WALLED LAKE, MI depending on your location.

Work Environment

The role includes 10%-20% field inspections and 60%-80% engineering and development of design packages for construction crews, with the remaining time spent on administrative tasks, planning, or customer follow-up. The candidate will spend 2-3 days per week in the office, with other days being remote. Must be comfortable in both field and office settings, able to lift 20 pounds, and walk up to 2 miles on unpaved surfaces. Reliable transportation is required.

Education

*Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree (EE, ME, or CE preferred) and/or AA degree in Electrical Engineering (Technology) with 1-4 years’ experience and interested in power distribution (prior relevant experience a plus)
