The Department of Human Services, Torrance State Hospital is searching for a hard-working and compassionate full-time Food Service Worker 1 to provide food service work in our facility. We are looking for someone who can follow established food safety and sanitation guidelines, read, and interpret tray tickets, and maintain knowledge of prescribed diets. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Our Food Service Workers work together with our dietary management team to provide a seamless flow of patient meal production and service. Food Service Worker 1s are trained in operating dish washing machines and floor scrubbers, reading tray tickets, and portioning out foods to meet individualized dietary guidelines. In addition, they must maintain high sanitation standards by correctly performing cleaning tasks. We foster teamwork, open communication, and positive attitudes. Our staff takes pride in the meals we serve, and we strive to ensure patient meal satisfaction.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, or 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM as needed, with 30-minute lunch, rotating days off including weekends and holidays. May change based on operational needs. The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
