Production Scheduler
Under direct supervision the Production Scheduler is responsible monitoring production milestones in coordination with Master Scheduling and Operations in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.” This individual is experienced in production control in a manufacturing environment. The role requires strong communication skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams to provide visibility and drive action in order to support Singer’s operational goals and provide high-quality production to our customers.
This position is located onsite in Torrance, CA.
Essential Functions
Partners with Production and Master Scheduling to create production schedules to achieve production goals and assists in creating production scheduling forecasts
Provides clear communication and feedback to internal stakeholders regarding production status
Ensures materials, tooling, and equipment are released and available to meet production schedule
Facilitates the capacity management process, including identification and escalation of long-term capacity gaps to ensure successful execution of customer demands in support of SIOP
Performs escalated expediting when required to ensure on time delivery of material
Prioritizes work orders and actions to ensure deadlines and milestones are met
Identifies critical material deliveries and ensure program requirements are prioritized though the supply chain as well as internal efforts (i.e., receiving, inspection and stockroom, internal processing)
Identify and implement improvements in production control processes
Assists in special projects as required
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum two (2) years of experience in production control and/or scheduling
Minimum two (2) years of experience in manufacturing and/or technical administration processes
Strong computer skills, proficient in the full suite of MS Office, ERP/MRP systems
Preferred Education/Experience:
Associate degree
Experience in automotive, restoration, manufacturing and or assembly environments
Skills/Abilities and Attributes
Ability to follow instructions and take direction
Ability to detect errors and correct through proper procedures and channels
Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others
Perfectionist mindset, very high attention to detail, and a passion for cars
Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines and meet deadlines
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms; must possess manual dexterity
Must be able to lift, stand, climb, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, stretch, and carry
Must have ability to speak clearly and distinctly and hear and be heard and understood in person and by telephone
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the production environment
Must be able to work in a busy/fast paced automotive shop environment
Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., infrequent lifting to 50 lbs.
Must be able to travel at times to support production
Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record and appropriate insurance limits and/or be insurable under the Singer’s company vehicle insurance policy?
Compensation
The starting pay range for this position is between $65,560 - $75,000. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
