Honeywell Lead Software Engineer in Torrance, California

The Lead Software Engineer leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software test systems. They will also lead the development of code and integration of software components and test equipment into a fully functional test stand system using NI LabVIEW on NI PXI, cRIO, and FPGA platforms. They will develop integrated test solutions, including industrial facility controls and data acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

  • Lead Test software development projects and co-ordinate software supplier management activities.

  • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for Test software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations.

  • Tracks and evaluates software team to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.

  • This position will require you to work on-site at our Torrance, CA location.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited course of study, in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree.

  • Experience in leading technical design and architecture for product development. Lead & drive technical proposals. 5+ years of experience designing and developing software with NI platforms and tools.

  • Experience with creating technical documents and developing software requirements from customer inputs along with experience in certification requirements and software versioning control is desired. Experience with hardware/software integration.

  • 4+ years' experience developing closed loop control systems.

  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle, Software testing life cycle (SDLC, STLC).

  • 8+ years’ experience with programming languages such as NI LabVIEW, Simulink, Matlab, C, C++.

  • S. Citizenship Required due to contractual requirements.

  • Two or more years of experience in handling product development, software design, architectural elements.

  • Demonstrated experience in progressively challenging and responsible roles.

We Value

  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing software for Integrated test system.

  • Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations.
