Honeywell Director Materials Management in Torrance, California

As a Director Materials Management here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the success of the materials management organization and function within our Aerospace business unit. Your primary objectives will include optimizing supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support our production schedules in the aerospace industry. You will use your leadership and management skills, deep understanding of inventory management systems, and a strategic approach to sourcing and procurement.

You will report directly to our Sr Director Materials Management and you will work out of our Torrance, CA location onsite. Your strategic oversight ensures a streamlined and efficient supply chain, minimizing costs and maximizing resource utilization. Your ability to optimize inventory levels and establish effective procurement strategies directly impacts the company's bottom line by reducing operational expenses and ensuring a constant flow of materials for production. Your proactive approach to materials management contributes significantly to meeting production deadlines, enhancing overall business resilience, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and ensure the success of comprehensive materials management strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives in the aerospace industry.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand production schedules, forecast demand, and establish effective procurement plans for aerospace applications.

  • Track total procurement activities, including effective vendor selection and contract management to secure a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials for aerospace projects.

  • Oversee inventory levels, minimizing excess or obsolete stock while ensuring an uninterrupted flow of materials to meet aerospace production requirements and maintain accuracy and efficiency.

  • Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of materials to and from the aerospace production facility.

Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal departments such as aerospace production, quality control, and finance.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the aerospace materials management function. Implement best practices, leverage technology, and stay informed about industry trends to enhance overall efficiency in the aerospace industry.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Compensation & Benefits:

Incentive Eligible

Salary Range: $181,000 - $225,500

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 8+ years of experience in materials management, procurement, and logistics, with a track record of success in optimizing supply chain processes

  • 8+ years of experience managing, motivating, and guiding a related organization.

  • Strong technical skills in materials management systems and inventory control

  • Experience leading a team of materials management professionals

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field in the aerospace industry.

  • Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and guide a team in the aerospace industry.

  • APICS Certification

  • Experience with Kinaxis Rapid Response
