Our client, a leading platform for managing personal, business and tax finances, is actively looking for a Tax Analyst to join their team on a hybrid schedule in Toronto, Ontario, Canada!

6 month contract, potential to extend

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and accurately update tax calculations and forms within the software by creating detailed specification for engineers

  • Test tax calculations/user experience/form display changes within the software.

  • Apply tax, accounting and business knowledge to develop/improve new software features

  • Work with federal/provincial tax authorities to certify our tax products.

  • Participate in the development and documentation of key operational processes and checklists, and product specifications.

  • Work with customer support representatives to resolve customer issues and deal directly with clients, as needed.

  • Able to effectively prioritize individual and team work to ensure delivery of product features with the highest quality and customer value.

Desired Skills And Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience preparing and/or reviewing federal and provincial tax returns, such as T1/TP-1

  • Strong background in tax research and analysis and a deep understanding of Canadian tax law.

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information and complex tax issues in non-technical language for consumption inside and outside of the organization.

  • Comprehensive understanding and use of tax preparation software (experience using TurboTax, WealthSimple Tax, TaxCycle, TaxPrep or ProFile is an asset).
