The role:

The Solution Architect in International Banking Technology is a high-impact role responsible for managing a set of tasks and techniques working as a liaison among various stakeholders. The SA needs to understand the structure, policies, and operations of the organization, and recommend technical / business solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. The SA will be result oriented and possess deep technical knowledge with a curious mindset, providing guidance to teams in Canada and IB countries to enable effective delivery of solutions, ensuring compliance with technology and bank standards.

What will you do?

  • You will be responsible for the design, architecture and documentation of effective and quality solutions that resolve highly complex business problems and support business needs.

  • Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications.

  • Building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global based systems.

  • Author architectural patterns to help assessment teams improve and develop their processes.

  • Socialize with larger audiences using reporting, real-time dashboards, and hosting education sessions.

  • Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts

  • Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution.

  • Assure quality security and compliance requirements are met for supported area.

  • Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner.

  • The role requires interaction with business and technology leadership, effective communications with the target audience and consequently the ability to promote an idea and gain consensus is critical.

  • Responsible for the Implementation of a trusted governance model where architecture assessments are automated based on enterprise standards and policies.

  • Help drive the implementation of trusted policies and standards with the help internal teams such as Security, Infrastructure, Data, etc.

  • Deployment of a technology solution that will implement the trusted governance framework, policies and workflows.

  • Challenge the solution architects way of thinking by implementing architectural design principles to improve the bank’s security, resiliency and technology footprint.

  • Continuously research current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.

  • Inform various stakeholders about any issues with the current technical solutions being implemented.

  • Create designs and reference architectures for enterprise

  • Champion a high performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment

What do you need to succeed?

  • Experience in network infrastructure, security, data, or application development. Modernizing legacy systems or similar transformational initiatives.

  • 8+ years of software engineering industry experience

  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global based systems. Experience in network infrastructure, security, data, or application development.

  • Experience in modernizing legacy systems or similar transformational initiatives

  • Experience with structured Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise tocloud migration deployments and roadmaps.

  • Strong programming skills in Java, React, RPG(desirable) and experience with a wide spectrum of technologies including Cloud development/deployment (Azure/Google)

  • Must be a leader with excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to build consensus and obtain co-operation from development teams and technology engineering leaders.

  • Disciplined in development methodology and familiar with software development technologies and concepts. Practical experience with systems design and specification for large scale applications.

  • Knowledge and Experience in Risk Systems technology is desirable
