Canadian Tire Senior Retail Network Specialist in Toronto, Ontario

What You’ll Do

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented network and security specialist to be responsible for our store network operations and network security for our organization. This is position is heavily focused on Juniper technology, security, and operations in an SDWAN topology.

To be successful in this role, you should have a sound working knowledge of retail store technologies combined with a strong and consistent team player perspective. These attributes will be key in building and improving stakeholder relationships, supporting, and achieving strong sponsorships in our deliverables required to support our store operations. This full-time permanent position and will involve an on-call component.

In this role you'll:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business owners and manage service vendors to ensure incidents pertaining to contractual SLAs, KPIs, and operational processes are delivered and managed.

  • Work with existing service desk owners to enhance our ticketing, incident, problem, and change process.

  • Lead quality initiatives to improve the delivery of service levels. Works with senior management in the planning, development, and execution of short- and long-range goals.

  • Ensure staff complies with information technology and information security policies and procedures and verifies that deliverables meet requirements.

  • Lead efforts to counter security breaches and anticipating and reducing the likelihood of future security alerts, incidents, and disasters.

  • Define, plan, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading security measures, policies, and controls.

  • Write reports and providing insights on the effectiveness of the current security policies, incident responses, disaster recovery plans, and other security-related information.

  • Conduct vulnerability testing and risk analyses to assess security and perform internal and external security audits.

  • Analyzing security breaches to identify the cause and to update incidence responses and disaster recovery plans.

  • Identify any areas of concern that could impact the performance of team members.

  • Provide hands-on direction for all activities and projects.

  • Communicate any pertinent information regarding project timelines, goals, or objectives to team members.

  • Ensure customer inquiries are responded to.

    What You Bring

  • A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, programming, or related field.

  • 3-5 years experience in the field, such as security administration.

  • Experience with SDWAN technologies and specifically the Juniper environment.

  • The ability to work in a high-stress environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, and teaching skills.

  • Good anticipation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to remain current on the latest technology and best practices in information security.

  • Vendor engagements and operationalizing manage service agreements.

  • Working with multiple service desk (internal and external) and optimizing incident, problem and change processes.

  • Operation service delivery engagements such as service desk, strategy, reporting and incident response.

  • Network and Firewall certifications are an asset.
