Power Delivery Project Manager (Hybrid)

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers Canada, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for our Power Delivery Project Management team In Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical and financial aspects of Power Delivery projects, managing and developing client relationships, and marketing POWER's Power Delivery services to existing and new clients in the respective region. Other responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships

  • Manage status reporting, invoicing, accounts receivable and unbilled for each project

  • Collaborate with project design teams

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the project team

  • Develop & maintain schedules, lead/participate in weekly project status meetings with project teams, oversee budgets, participate in proposal preparation, take leading role in client relationships

  • Develop and support regional business opportunities with potential clients in the Ontario province.

  • Work primarily with Power Delivery project teams, but may also interface with other disciplines as needed, based on the nature of any particular project

  • This position will primarily have local travel to regional clients

  • Demonstrated Project Management skills should include CPM scheduling, budget and cost analysis, leading project teams, as well as proposal writing, client marketing, and project presentations

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University required-engineering, engineering management, or construction management discipline OR 10+ years of professional experience in the electric power and communications industry

  • Minimum of ten (10) years applicable industry experience

  • Minimum of five (5) + years relevant project management experience

  • Relevant experience includes small- to medium-scale project management, and/or project lead engineering experience on projects

  • Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools required

  • General understanding of power delivery infrastructure engineering required

  • Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting required

  • General understanding of power delivery infrastructure engineering required (distribution, substation and transmission line project experience)

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Desired Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University required-engineering, engineering management, or construction management discipline preferred

  • Ten (10) + years of project management experience preferred

  • Familiarity with regional utilities in the respective region

  • P.ENG registration is desired

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
