What you’ll be able to do:

At Ford, the Vehicle Hardware Engineering (VHE) teams are utilizing Design Thinking & User Experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services that will delight our customers. From autonomy and electrification to smart mobility technologies, our teams around the world are working together with excitement to make smart vehicles for a smart world. 

The VHE teams are looking to fill early-career, entry-level engineering roles throughout a variety of teams.

*Examples of areas of opportunities in Vehicle Hardware Engineering (VHE) include:  *

Exterior and Structural Systems Engineering – Responsible for the design and release of exterior & vehicle structure parts that include body structure, frame, battery tray, doors, fascias, handles and latches, mirrors, glass, wipers, static and dynamic sealing, badges, and other exterior ornamentation.

Interior Systems Engineering – Responsible for components as well as the safety related components in the vehicle interior such as insulation and carpeting, to seat structures, floor shifters, instrument panel, display screens, switches and decorative trim.

Underbody Systems - Responsible for world class concept designs that are capable of meeting a full range of targets including vehicle driving dynamics, NVH, safety, appearance, cost, quality, and weight for underbody engineered systems including brakes, suspension, transmission, steering systems, and wheels/tires.

VHE- Systems - Provides essential engineering solutions and systems integration to and for the engineering function teams including Design Assurance & Quality; Systems & Hardware Integration; Engineering Design (CAD) and Bill-of-Material (BOM)

Electric and Electronics Hardware - Responsible to deliver hardware competence and design leadership for the engineering, technical direction and management of Tier-1 Electronic modules, ECU hardware electronics and Wiring systems for Core component development, application deployment, and strategic management across the enterprise.

Six Sigma - Responsible to support quality, warranty, and customer satisfaction for components & software applications throughout the vehicle

Digital Transformation - Responsible for leading the development and execution of software (S/W) based tools & processes that support hardware (H/W) and software development

Flexible Vehicle Architecture - FVA consists of the following teams including Vehicle Architecture (VA) Team that owns vehicle sizing, occupant position and mechanical integration; Vehicle Safety Team to integrate the safety load path and critical content early during architecture development; CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) Integration Team that is developing new methods to support efficient architecture development and managing the early CAE process using conceptual modeling to stress test the architecture bandwidth.

What Are We Looking For?

0-3 years of Engineering Experience

Pursuit of a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in one of the following fields:

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Systems Engineering

Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Mechatronics Engineering

Manufacturing Engineering

Data Analytics

Semiconductor Engineering

Aerospace/Aeronautical, Biomedical, Chemical, and other disciplines in key areas

Mathematics, Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics, or similar degree

Materials Science/Engineering

Metallurgical Engineering

Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) 

Candidates must graduate and be available for full-time work prior to September 2025 

Preferred Requirements:

GPA of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) 

Involvement with Formula SAE or similar extracurricular activities

Outstanding communication skills

Ability to work within a diverse team
