Wage $18.32 - $20.35 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

Bakery Assistant Managers are responsible for ensuring that team members provide exceptional guest service, while achieving production, sales, and profit margin goals. This includes ensuring guest satisfaction, driving sales, building sales skills and product knowledge. Effective Assistant Managers maximize productivity and profitability by balancing sales and expenses, identifying sales opportunities and setting production and guest service standards. They must demonstrate knowledge of the department's purpose and goals and have the skills to help team members achieve those goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • An Assistant Bakery Manager will train, coach, and observe team members in serving guests
  • Have strong working knowledge of department equipment with ability to teach team and others all fundamental operations of equipment* (mixing, scaling, baking, slicing, finishing, etc.)*
  • Provide input into merchandising decisions to the store and department managers
  • An Assistant Bakery Manager will help implement the marketing strategy, cross merchandising, and sales programs throughout the department
  • Resolve guest and team complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Lead team members to accomplish store and department goals
  • Manage sales, gross profit margin, labor-scheduling, and department standards
  • Be proficient in all store technology (Ordering, POS system, etc.)
  • Work on special projects, assignments and other tasks as assigned

*POSITION REQUIREMENTS *

  • An Assistant Bakery Manager possess a vast knowledge of related products along with a willingness to learn
  • One to three years retail experience
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and task with a high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word, and Excel a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire work day and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds from location to location.
