Job Summary:

Join our team at A-Line as a Diesel Mechanic, where you\'ll play a crucial role in keeping our fleet of vehicles running smoothly. You\'ll be responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of our trucks and trailers. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to showcase your skills while ensuring the reliability and safety of our vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular maintenance on heavy-duty and light equipment, trucks, trailers, and industrial vehicles.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on trailers to meet DOT road safety requirements.
  • Repair brakes, electrical systems, and replace parts as needed.
  • Perform routine truck maintenance including battery checks and oil changes.
  • Diagnose and repair engine and transmission issues.
  • Troubleshoot reported problems promptly.
  • Monitor inventory and order parts when necessary.
  • Document inspections and repairs.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in maintenance tools and repair equipment.
  • Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS systems.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to use diagnostic software effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of relevant apprenticeship or professional certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Experience in Mig, Stick Welding, and fabrication preferred.
  • Own hand tools required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity and stability for precision work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical agility for facility and traversal.

Working Conditions:

  • Physically demanding role with exposure to various weather elements.
  • Use of hand and power tools and heavy equipment.
  • Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, and fumes.
