MAINTENANCE LEAD

Job Description

The maintenance lead will perform troubleshooting, repairs and basic preventive maintenance for all KTC machine tools (see list below) and other facility equipment as needed. The individual will train with current on-site personnel as well as attend OEM Tech Training as needed, locally and/or off-site, this may require international travel.

    Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues/needs, know basics with coolant pumps, spindle motors, bearings, breakers, encoders, etc.

  • Prepare, generate and analyze reports with metrics pertaining to operation and service of said machines.

  • Work with KTC machinists and/or OEM machine service techs to repair down machines and minimize down time.

  • Maintain schedules and logs for preventative maintenance within the KTC system

  • Work closely with Machine Shop Manager & Machinists as needed.

  • Responsible for chip bin/dumpster maintenance/scheduling

  • Responsible for a small cleaning crew

  • Repair/diagnose various repairs in a manufacturing facility as needed. (cranes, forklifts, lighting, equipment, plumbing, etc.)

  • Maintain stock of maintenance materials for machine tools & general maintenance items as needed.

  • Write, submit & organize POs for vendors and maintain expense reports.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience working with any of above machines/manufactures listed above a PLUS

  • Proven ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

  • Basic computer literacy including using Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Must be able to make changes and adapt to work environment, manage competing demands, work with different levels of personnel/employees and be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

  • Available to be called in for down machine tools during off hours (weekends & 2ndshift)

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Technical Education or related field preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools
