POSITION: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)REPORTS TO: Director of Clinical ServicesPrimary Function: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst will flex their schedules accordingly to meet the needs of their caseloads in all service settings. The BCBA will provide applied behavior analysis services to individuals within all New Horizons in Autism programs and service recipients. Services may include but are not limited to single or ongoing consultation, initial evaluation, assessment and treatment of challenging behavior, development of skill acquisition program, behavior strategies, or behavior support plans, periodic reassessment, ongoing monitoring, staff training, documenting, and billing for behavioral support services for individuals with approved standalone behavior supports as necessary. Must be willing to supervise BCaBAs, RBTs, and candidates pursuing certification.Essential Functions:Administer Skill Acquisition assessments including VB MAPP, FISH, Essential for Living, Preference Assessments, Assessment of Functional Living Skills. Conduct Functional Assessment of challenging behaviors: Functional Behavior Assessments and Functional Analysis. Develop supported employment programming as needed. Design, Implement and train data collection methods, skill acquisition programing, and function-based interventions. Review and modify treatment plans according to data. Complete all reports and assessments within a timely manner. Create behavior plans for individuals on caseload as necessary. Facilitate Natural Environment Training when appropriate. Train stakeholders and caregivers in the implementation of behavior support plans / behavior strategies. Directly observe program implementation administered by BCaBAs, RBTs, Direct Support Staff, etc. Conduct intake assessments for prospective clients. Review support staff’s documentation and data collection and provide feedback as needed. Complete consultation notes at each consultation and record/ upload into individual’s file. Complete behavior support service logs for billing. Provide scheduled consultations with individual and support staff, review data, update program and model techniques for support staff when necessary. Collaborate with members of the Interdisciplinary Team, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate individual information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs and services. Provide scheduled consultations face to face with individual and support staff, review data, update program and model techniques for support staff when necessary. Lead behavior support staff meetings in-services, professional development workshops and trainings as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Communicate through email regularly. Provide supervision to candidates pursuing or maintaining certification as outlined in the NHIA Supervision Contract.Other Functions:Adhere to the rules, regulations, policies, and processes outlined in the New Horizons in Autism. policy and procedure manual. Protect individual rights and privacy according to HIPAA regulations, and New Horizons in Autism policy and procedures manual. Adhere to Ethical Guidelines set forth by the BACB and New Horizons in Autism policies and procedures manual. Respect the dignity of all individuals and protect individuals from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Maintain accurate records including but not limited to assessments, current daily notes, and services provided for billing purposes, to ensure best practice and quality assurance standards are maintained. Assist with problem solving and systems development to improve efficiency within the agency. Maintain a positive attitude. Complete RBT competencies for those pursuing certification. Assist in development of continuing education content that meets BACB ACE requirements. Attend specific NHIA and non-NHIA events on behalf of the Clinical Team and New Horizons in Autism at the request of the Director of Clinical Services or Executive Director.Qualifications:Minimum of a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field. Must possess and maintain BCBA certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Have successfully completed their 8-hour supervision course and meet the BACB requirements for providing supervision and maintain supervisory designation as outlined by the BACB Must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral. Obtain, possess, and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and re-certification every 2 years. Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel as needed. Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License & insurance in good standing. Must pass a criminal history, central registry background check, and Department of Education background check. Maintain a clear criminal record. Be able to successfully manage behavior support staff. Exhibit superior organizational skills, excellent time management skills, can meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-pace work environment.Experience:Minimum of 1 year ABA experience. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Division Circulars, Supports Programs Policies and Procedures and Community Care Policies and Procedures manuals preferred. Experience in residential, day program, community settings, preferred. Experience in providing school consultation preferred. Experience developing professional development content highly preferred. Experience providing supervision to RBTs and candidates pursuing certification highly preferred. Experience with assessment and treatment of severe challenging behavior, highly preferred. Experience conducting Functional Analyses, highly preferred. Experience working with adults with autism and related developmental disabilities, highly preferred.Salary Range: $55 - $65k per yearAll NHIA staff will be required to cooperate with the licensing, Department of Human Service (DHS) staff in any inspection or investigation. NHIA staff must also work in collaboration with NHIA’s fact-finding internal investigators.
