Pay Rate: Up to $90.00/hour

Subcontract agreement (LLC or 1099)

Shift: Flexible as needed (often times days)

Job Summary: As an Injection Molding Process Engineer Advisor, you will play a crucial role in qualifying the molding of new alternative resin through coordinated mold trials and driving the product introduction. This position requires a dedicated approach to oversee and manage the molding process, ensuring that new resins meet the required dimensional tolerances and production standards.

Core Job Duties:

  • Mold Trials Coordination: Conduct and oversee mold trials to qualify the use of new alternative resin in the production process.

  • Product Introduction: Drive the introduction of new products by ensuring the new resin can be processed correctly and produce parts that meet dimensional tolerances.

  • Machine Operation: Operate and manage the molding machines to run the trials, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

  • Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with the alternate supplier of the resin to ensure successful trials and integration into the production process.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of trial results, process adjustments, and any modifications required for successful molding.

  • Technical Support: Provide frontline support and technical expertise to the plant, ensuring that any issues are quickly resolved.

  • Project Management: Propose and manage options for conducting the trials over a 2-3 month period, ensuring that timelines and objectives are met.

  • Tooling Verification: Ensure that current tooling can accommodate the new resin and that all parts produced meet quality standards.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in injection molding processes, specifically in running mold trials and qualifying new materials.

  • Education: Bachelor"s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Consideration also given to candidates with an Associate"s Degree and extensive relevant experience.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks for design and verification of parts and tooling.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze trial data to make informed decisions.

  • Project Management: Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute mold trials within a set timeframe, managing multiple stakeholders and resources.

  • Operational Expertise: Hands-on experience with injection molding machines and an understanding of the production environment.

  • Documentation: Skilled in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

  • Industry Background: Previous experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably with a focus on injection molding and material qualification.
