Lucas County Sheriff's Office Correctional Officer in Toledo, Ohio

Job Purpose: Produces print and web-ready electronic layouts by completing design and mechanical requirements using computer software.

Duties: * Determines design requirements by studying and confirming layout specifications; coordinating with art directors, account executives, graphic designers, and writers.

  • Prepares layout by placing art and text; specifying bleeds, clear zones, and coverages; completing color separations; color correcting and resizing photographs; revising and modifying existing files.

  • Obtains vendor production by recommending outside resources; approving vendor submissions.

  • Maintains quality results by proofing and pre-flighting layouts, including required files, fonts, links, and call-outs; confirming design printability, including traps, overprints, and minimum half-tomes dots and line weights; maintaining consistent appearance and standards across projects; adhering to make-up and layout standards.

  • Obtains layout approval by submitting completed layout; coordinating with proofreaders and typesetters; reviewing and implementing changes.

  • Initiates production by preparing files for prepress; releasing files to printers and web designers.

  • Meets cost standards by monitoring expenses.

  • Develops designs by studying project objectives

  • Maintains historical records by filing and retrieving files.

  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting software problems; calling for repairs.

  • Updates job knowledge by studying new software; participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Oversees hour-to-hour operation of the facility while on duty. Maintains facility security and controls all facility activities.

Qualifications

Minimum of a High School diploma; Must possess a valid driver's license, verifiable auto insurance, and acceptable driving record.
